Welcome to Bilfinger! With our buddy program for new employees, we help to ensure that you are integrated into the team from the very beginning. In the first few weeks, the onboarding plan created specifically for you provides a direct opportunity to get to know all your contacts as well as the corporate departments, and an assignment on the construction site is also planned so that you understand our company in its entirety.

Over the course of the first three months, your goals for the coming year will then be agreed with you, so that you know what we expect and giving you an opportunity to get directly involved. We look forward to seeing you move forward! 

International Assignments

The Bilfinger Group is active throughout the world and has employees in Europe, North America and the Middle East. Bilfinger’s projects are executed worldwide which means that our employees - depending on the position - are also deployed worldwide. This allows you to develop personally and professionally in international projects with a range of different cultures.

Cooperation within the Group is also key to our success. Projects are often carried out jointly among companies within the Group, and the exchange of experience on a wide range of topics with international colleagues is also a component of our daily work. 


We have three locations. Oberhausen, Dortmund and Osterode.

The Oberhausen location is our headquarters and is conveniently located at the Westfield Centro Oberhausen. Underground parking facilities are available and there are a large number of free parking spaces directly on site.  You are also welcome to enjoy your lunch in our on-site cafeteria.

The cafeteria is subsidized by the employer and serves rolls in the morning and three different dishes including a salad buffet at lunchtime. There are also tea kitchens where you can meet for a quick update over a variety of complimentary specialty coffees as well as tea or mineral water.

The Dortmund location is the heart of our company, because this is where production of our extremely complex piping systems and components for the power plant industry takes place. State-of-the-art machinery and technical equipment guarantee precision work that meets our strict quality standards. To ensure that our employees can tackle their demanding tasks with renewed energy, the company's own cafeteria provides culinary specialties.

At the Osterode site in the beautiful Harz Mountains, we mainly focus on our business activities in the nuclear sector. 


We provide our people with an employee portal that offers discounted prices for branded goods and travel. We also have a cooperation with a chain of fitness studios where employees can work out at a reduced price. 

Talent Development

Developing the personal and professional potential of our employees is key to our success, which is why we offer a wide range of programs and opportunities in this area.

Depending on your individual preferences and fit, we offer careers as a technical specialist as well as jobs in project management or management. We have implemented a range of instruments to keep a constant eye on the continuing development of our employees and to push this forward. 

Starting in January, we conduct employee appraisals in which, among other things, the personal development goals for the coming year are discussed. Seminars and training programs for the coming year are determined in this discussion.

Afterwards, we begin with the talent search, meaning that the managers and HR identify talent that is promoted through a global leadership program. There are four different talent programs.

Talent Program: The Talent Program is geared towards our young talent with at least 3 years of professional experience and an above-average performance in the last two years.

Leadership Program: The Leadership Program is aimed at employees who, for example, find themselves in a project manager or team leader role and have at least 5 years of professional experience.

Senior Leadership Program: The Senior Leadership Program is designed for our experienced managers who already have a high level of responsibility and 8 - 10 years of professional experience.

Executive Leadership Program: The Executive Leadership Program is aimed at managing directors or finance directors of larger units as well as managers of larger corporate departments with 15 years of professional experience.

We also offer mentoring programs. Experienced employees share their professional knowledge and experience with inexperienced colleagues, thus providing our employees with the best possible professional and personal support. 

Bilfinger SE also organizes a Learning Week for all employees twice a year. During the Learning Week, employees have the opportunity to participate in English or German-language seminars.
